The Whiting Birf Fur hackles are almost similar to the spey hackles. The bird fur hackles have a higher fiber density. Thus the hackles can be used to baitfish streamer and tails. Also seatrout and perch streamers can be tied with bird fur. Additionally bird fur has better availability than Spey Hackle rooster capes. Shrimp patterns can be tied as well. Whiting created this tailing pack from Coq de Leon feathers with long fibers. The pattern of each fiber is just perfect for every tail of any fly. Preferrebly we use it mostly on modern Czech Nymph patterns. But you can also use it for dry flies. The classic "dark pardo" is the most universal nymph tail.
