How to apply for a 3 month fishing license in Germany (Bavaria)

Please be advised that you require a valid Governmental German fishing license to fish in German waters. A visitors’ license can be issued by every local town hall here in Germany and costs approximately €25.

You will need a passport photograph and your passport/ ID.
We cannot issue a fishing permit for the Traun without a valid Governmental German Fishing License!
For all fly fishers visiting us here in Siegsdorf, who wish to purchase a day-permit for our rivers or lakes, please remember that you are required by German law to present a Governmental German fishing license before you can obtain a fishing permit from us.
Foreign visitors can purchase a visitors license which is valid for a period of three months. This license can be obtained from all local town halls (Rathaus) in Germany at the cost of approximately €25.
You will have to present a current passport photograph and your valid passport on purchase of the fishing license.
This visitors’ license can be obtained at the town hall here in Siegsdorf.
