RIO Elite Skagit Max Power Shooting Head

Short, easy casting heads for the biggest flies, and tightest restrictions

  • Built with RIO's exceptionally slick, durable SlickCast coating
  • Ultra-low stretch ConnectCore
  • Designed for shorter Spey rods, tight restrictions, and almost impossibly easy casting
  • High “grains per foot” power, making it ideal for the largest flies, heaviest tips, and toughest winds
  • Complete series of heads with varying lengths and small size increments

RIO Skagit Max Power heads cast the largest flies and the heaviest sinking tips with exceptional ease. The unique weight distribution deeply loads rods for long casts while the powerful front taper delivers enough punch to turn over all the weight you need to get the fly into the strike zone. Shorter head lengths make the Max Power the perfect choice for shorter rods or when space behind the caster is limited. The low stretch core gives incredible levels of sensitivity when casting and fishing, and provides enhanced detection of takes, more positive hook sets, and far greater control when playing a fish.

In addition, this line is built with SlickCast, creating the slickest, most durable coating on the market—producing the least amount of friction ever measured in a fly line.

Technologies:

ConnectCore

ConnectCore is RIO’s ultra-low stretch core (maximum 6%) used in coldwater fly lines that provides incredibly sensitivity and control when casting and fishing.

SlickCast

SlickCast creates the slickest, most durable coating on the market – producing the least amount of friction ever measured on a fly line.

EasyID

RIO’s printed line marking system that allows anglers to quickly and easily identify each line.

Front Welded Loop

A neat, bulletproof loop welded at the front of the fly line for fast Spey-specific rigging.

Back Welded Loop

A neat, bulletproof loop welded at the end of the fly line for fast rigging to backing.

RIO Products
For more than 20 years, RIO has demonstrated passion, innovation and a pure love for the sport through its development of the industry's highest performance fly lines. And the great news is, we will continue to research, design and refine our products to ensure they are your preferred line of choice for years to come.

Product development like that won't happen all by itself – that level of commitment is going to require thousands more hours on the water – but somebody's got to do it, and that somebody is RIO. No matter what line family, price level or quality RIO fly line you choose, you can fish happy in the knowledge that every single fly line is made in our Idaho Falls facility – close to the banks of our premium testing grounds, the Henry’s Fork and the South Fork of the Snake in Idaho. Fly line manufacturing is a complicated business requiring incredibly sophisticated machinery.
